3. Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair

Get all your holiday shopping done at the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair. This year marks the 44th anniversary of the event that celebrates arts and crafts in the Smokies. More than 180 craftspeople from all over the United States will gather to showcase their skills and offer their unique art for sale. Many of the artisans will sell holiday-themed items and unique gifts. The fair runs from October 10 through 27. Tickets are $7 for adults. Children 12 and under get in for free.

4. Oktoberfest at Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg’s 10th annual Oktoberfest runs from September 27 through November 3. The event celebrates traditions of the original Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Food takes center stage at Oktoberfest where visitors can try traditional Bavarian cuisine, such as schnitzel, bratwurst and strudel. The Outdoor Bier Garten features authentic German beer from a variety of breweries. Along with the food and drinks, guests can enjoy outdoor games and watch the Smoky Mountain Oompah Band perform traditional Bavarian folk dances, dressed in authentic lederhosen.

The massive Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run thunders into town the following weekend as it takes place September 12-14, 2019. This popular show features hot rods of just about every make, model, and year. The event is hosted at The LeConte Center, located about half of a mile away from The Ramsey Hotel & Convention Center. Spectator parking for the show is free, but admission is $12 per day. Pigeon Forge is a fantastic place to celebrate July 4th with the extremely popular Patriot Festival. This special event features activities for children, food vendors, free concerts by multiple performers, and finishes with a spectacular fireworks display. The Patriot Festival is free to attend and the venue is located within walking distance from The Ramsey Hotel at nearby Patriot Park!

The festivities begin at 2:00 p.m. with a free “Kid’s Karnival” featuring fun activities for children. The food vendors also open at 2:00 p.m. offering delicious food throughout the day.

At 4:00 p.m. the stage come alive with free concerts from the following performers:

  • Whiskey Icarus
  • Pigeon Forge Community Chorus
  • Brad Hudson Band
  • Free Falling (a Tom Petty Tribute Band)

The fun continues at 8:30 p.m. as the event headliner, Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, takes the stage! Marty Stuart has had an award-winning career with numerous hits, and there is no doubt they know how to put on a show! This will be the first ride available at Rowdy Bear Adventure Park, and they have dropped hints of adding two more rides later this year that will be unlike anything else available in the Smokies! This new attractions is located right beside The Local Goat restaurant on the north end of the Parkway in Pigeon Forge.

National Enquirer Museum

The National Enquirer is opening a brand new museum in May that features the history and most sensational stories behind the rise of the popular tabloid. The press release states that it is an interactive family attraction that will “deliver the story behind the story of the tabloid that created an industry. From being the first on the scene, having the first news helicopter in the sky, and being the first in the supermarket, they will continue that history as the first tabloid with an immersive museum attraction. Visitors of all ages will explore new National Enquirer exclusives on the stories that changed the course of history. Dive into the JFK conspiracy, get the scoop on the British Royal Family, explore the biggest crimes of the past century and experience the life of celebrities in Hollywood.”

Nation’s Longest Sky Bridge

While not located in Pigeon Forge, this exciting new addition to our neighbor, Gatlinburg, is exciting and incredibly special. Opening May 17, the SkyBridge at Skylift Park in Gatlinburg will be the nation’s longest skybridge spanning a whopping 680 feet with incredible views of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains. It is sure to be a breathtaking experience unlike anything else in our nation!

On the first Friday in May every year, the Pigeon Forge Parkway hosts the incredibly popular Music in the Mountains Spring Parade. The 2019 parade takes place on May 3rd beginning at 6 p.m. (Eastern). The parade route begins at traffic light #6, which is conveniently located directly in front of The Ramsey Hotel and Convention Center! We offer the perfect location for you to easily walk out to the Parkway and enjoy the entertainment.

The Pigeon Forge Parade features numerous talent from area shows and theaters including singers, dancers, etc alongside high school marching bands, dance groups, choral groups, and baton twirlers from Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia and more!

New for the 2019 parade are four cold-air balloons depicting popular children’s characters—the Pajaminals, Daniel the Tiger and Yogi Bear. A fourth, a baseball measuring 10-feet in diameter, recognizes the Ripken Experience Pigeon Forge.

The Grand Marshal for the 2019 Pigeon Forge Parade will be baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. who has brought hundreds of baseball teams from around the country to Pigeon Forge since The Ripken Experience opened in 2016.

In addition to Cal Ripken Jr., celebrity Paula Deen will also be featured in the parade as well! Paula Deen continues to grow her business and investments in Pigeon Forge with Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and the newly-opened Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud Show and Adventure Park, both of which are conveniently located about one mile away from The Ramsey.
